Biography
Veteran of labor Boris Andreev from Primorye Territory faced criminal prosecution in the fall of 2022 for his faith in God — his house was searched, he was detained and placed in a pretrial detention centre and charged with extremism. Being behind bars made his health worse.
Boris was born in November 1951 in Monastyrishche (Primorye Territory). He has an older brother and sister. Their mother worked as a primary school teacher.
As a child, Boris liked cycling. He read a lot. After school, he graduated from the Far Eastern Polytechnic with a degree in electrical engineering and the University of Marxism-Leninism. Prior to his criminal prosecution, Boris worked for 18 years as a dispatcher for the unified emergency duty service. Over time he lived in Vladivostok, Khorol and Yaroslavsky.
From a young age, Boris wanted to read the Bible, but he only began to study it thoughtfully at the age of 50. In this book, he found answers to questions that concerned him. With the help of advice from the Bible, Boris was able to quit smoking and overcome alcohol addiction. In 2004, he was batpized.
Boris has three adult sons from his first marriage. In 2019, he met Aleksandra, who shares his views on life. A year later they got married. Aleksandra loves gardening. The couple enjoys spending time with each other and with friends, walking, going to the sea and playing board games.
Due to his long stay in the pretrial detention center and the lack of adequate physical activity, even performing the simplest actions became difficult for Boris; heart problems and dizziness began. He was also diagnosed with a precancerous condition that requires regular observation by specialists, which is not easy in prison.
