The Supreme Court upheld the decision in the case of Belgorod Jehovah's Witnesses

On June 9, 2016, the Supreme Court of the Russian Federation upheld the decision to terminate the activities of the Local Religious Organization (LRO) of Jehovah's Witnesses in Belgorod and recognize it as "extremist". The court's decision does not mean that the religion of Jehovah's Witnesses in Belgorod is banned. Only a specific legal entity, which included 11 Belgorod residents, was liquidated.
