Head of the Investigative Department for the closed administrative-territorial formation of Vilyuchinsk of the Investigative Committee for the Kamchatka Territory, Vladislav Bogdanov, initiated a criminal case against Pavel Baturov and Yevgeniya Vasilyeva. They are suspected of participating in the activity of an extremist organization and involving others — a resident of Vilyuchinsk and other unidentified individuals — in it. According to the ruling, Baturov and Vasilyeva "undertook active actions... expressed in participating in religious events and teaching the religion of Jehovah's Witnesses."

Officers of the Investigative Committee and FSB raid the homes of Vasilyeva, Baturov, and other Jehovah's Witnesses in Vilyuchinsk. The believers’ Bibles and electronic devices are seized.
